School History in Fahy /Quansboro

The Parish of Fahy / Quansboro is in the diocese of Clonfert in East Galway. It extends from Claremadden to Muckenagh and Feaghbeg.
The Irish title of the school Scoil Naomh Chuan is associated with St Cuan, who lived during the 6th Century. His feast day falls on October 15th.He supposedly lived to the ripe old age of 100 years and founded many churches and monasteries in Ireland.

Raheen N.S. was built on this site in 1960, with three classrooms. In 2010, the school was extended by Gohery Construction, under the design of Architect, Derek Coulter. The new build consisted of an extra classroom, staffroom, inside and outside stores, cloakroom and additional toilet facilities and a modern set-down access. The junior room was extended and a resource room and School Library were included in the modern design. The classrooms were equipped with Interactive whiteboards. The grounds were upgraded to include a new basketball court, tennis court and further development of the school pitch.
